Close du Tue-Boeuf
Cheverny Rouge
$20.00
Nose: Strawberry, Cherry, Banana - very fruity.
Palate: rice, ash, cherry dominant, with a rocky mineraly finish.
I suggest eating with: stew/meat heavy dishes.
So evident that there is Gamay and not just Pinot Noir in this wine - the Bananas are a dead give away. But it is a pretty nice blend, very fruity aromatics, and a smooth body. I do totally see this as a stew wine. Which given the sudden turn back to cold weather makes me want to cube up some lamb and turn on the crock pot.
